What you will generally need
Requirements differ by category. Confirm yours on sem.admin.ch.
- Passport valid at least three months beyond departure, with two blank pages
- Travel insurance of at least €30,000 covering the whole Schengen area
- Evidence of purpose: booking, invitation or business partner confirmation
- Evidence of sufficient financial means
- Employment: the contract and evidence of the employer's recruitment efforts
- Study: admission, secured funding and accommodation
- Biometric data given in person
